It's Not Too Late to Donate!

Just a friendly reminder that we are still accepting donations for the UWYLS Diaper Drive! Thank you to everyone who has already donated packages of diapers or baby wipes. If you haven't donated yet, please consider purchasing a package of diapers or wipes on your next trip to the store. Diapers and wipes will be donated to the Intestinal Rehab Group and low income families who are clients at Alabama Children's Hospital. Cash donations are also accepted.

2nd Annual Cooking for a Cause is May 3!

The 2nd Annual Cooking for a Cause event is May 3rd!

We are excited to announce that Cooking for a Cause will be on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 5:30pm Alagasco Center for Energy Technology.

UWYLS is committed to the fight to end childhood obesity in Jefferson County, and through this event, we hope to shed light on the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The night will feature VIP cooking demonstrations from Chef Chris Vizzina, a silent auction, live music, wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and much more. The event will benefit Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities, a project of the Jefferson County Health Action Partnership, and the United Way Young Leaders Society.

Tickets are $25.00 for general admission and $75.00 for general admission plus the cooking demonstration & dinner.

UWYLS Diaper Drive February - April 2012

The United Way Young Leaders Society is excited to announce the start of our Diaper Drive! We will be collecting packages of diapers of all sizes now through April 30, 2012. Diapers will be donated to children in The Children's Hospital of Alabama Intestinal Rehab Group.

It's easy to donate! The next time you go to the grocery store, drug store, or superstore, add a package or two of diapers to your shopping list. Once you have purchased your diapers, contact a UWYLS representative at one of our three convenient drop-off locations.

Don't know which diapers to buy? No problem! Cash donations will also be accepted.

Encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to participate in the Diaper Drive. We are United Way Young Leaders and we are making a difference, one diaper at a time!

Please join us Tuesday, February 21, from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. for a tour of YWCA Central Alabama.

About: The YWCA serves as a place of refuge, responding to the needs of women and their families providing hope and opportunities in a warm, family-like environment.
